Eugene Chong

​Founder | Principal Counselling Psychologist

Eugene Chong is the Founder / Principal Counselling Psychologist with Seeding Minds. He is also an adjunct lecturer at various schools that offer approved psychology and counselling training programs, from Diploma to Masters Levels.

Eugene has extensive experience in working with youths with mental health needs in psychiatric rehabilitation and educational institutions. Eugene has also worked in clinical settings in hospitals and rehabilitation centres to provide clinical counselling and group therapy for patients with Schizophrenia, Depression and anxiety disorders. He uses an array of psychometric tools, ranging from Intelligence, Personality, to Behavioural & Cognitive, to assess the functionality of an individual. His therapeutic approach mainly revolves around post-modern concepts, and brief work with clients through the theories of SFBT and CTRT. Other approaches like Schema therapy, EMDR, and Erkisonian Hypnosis were used appropriately.

 

He provides two certification courses for participants who are keen on personality and marital issues, as a seminar director for Prepare/Enrich Accreditation, he uses a psychometric instrument for couples and a T-JTA trainer for couple’s personality profiling. In couples counselling, he utilizes the Gottman approach in the intervention and has completed Gottman Level 3 training. As for specific team dynamics, conflict management, and career counselling, he uses MBTI and DISC as tools to guide teams into resolution. He also conducts mental wellness talks in various organisations i.e., corporate, educational, and religious settings, and is an associate consultant with Workplace OptionsHMI Institute of Health Sciences, Health Can be Fun, and Optum

Besides the clinical aspects, he was involved as one of the pioneers in the setup of the Hope counselling services under 
Hope Centre (Singapore) and previous counselling overseers in Hope Church Singapore. In addition, he is also the founding member/committee member for the Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors Singapore (APACS) and the ex-board member of Family Life First (FLF). He is a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS) an international Member of the Australia Counselling Association (ACA) and APACS-L4S. He is also a registered supervisor with ACA & APACS.   

He is able to conduct therapy in English, Mandarin as well as Cantonese.

Jeslyn Lim

Developmental Psychologist | Psychotherapist

BA (App Psych & Org Psych), MEd (Dev Psych), Advanced Certification in 5-PATH Hypnotherapy, Certified 7-PATH Self-Hypnosis Teacher, Registered Practitioner & Supervisor (APACS) & ACTA

Jeslyn Lim is the Managing Director. Developmental Psychologist and Certified Hypnotist at Mind Culture. Trained in Applied Psychology and Organisational Psychology at an undergraduate level, Masters degree in Developmental Psychology, and post-graduate as a Hypnotherapist.

She is a certified practitioner of Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) and a member of the 
Association for IEMT Practitioner. Jeslyn is also a full member of the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS), as well as a Board Committee Member of the Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors Singapore (APACS). With extensive experience working in the service and education sectors, she had attained vast opportunities to work with disadvantaged and disenfranchised children, youth, as well as adults (with a specialty in the psychological dysfunction, intellectually disabled individuals and their families).
As a psychologist and a hypnotherapist, she took charge of clinical assessment and program, individual behavioural plan (IBP) development, clinical supervision, and clinical meetings with parents. With experience in behavioural and language intervention (trained in ABLLS™‐R, ABA & VB techniques/ physiology) and alongside with hypnotherapeutic work, she is 
National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) Certified with an Advanced Certification In 5-PATH®, as well as a 7th PATH Self-Hypnosis Teacher. ​Jeslyn works closely with clients in achieving individualized learning goals progressively. Apart from her work experience in the social service industry, Jeslyn also spent years in the private sectors at the management level, ensuring employees’ well-being by performing conflict resolution, and providing counselling services. This further fortified her skills in dealing with clients regarding matters of safety, crisis, and restorative management. She developed therapeutic interventions to promote motivation and heighten work morale as well as work ethics. Additionally, Jeslyn is experienced in the medical sector as a senior surgical operating assistant, dealing with patients and cases that included financial hardship, phobias, and socio-emotional needs.

Pauline Leong

Counselling Psychotherapist

Master of Social Work, Master of Social Science (Professional Counselling), Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing), Registered Counsellor (SAC), Registered Social Worker (SASW)

Pauline has 16 years of experience working with children, teenagers, families, individuals, and couples. She started her counselling career with a voluntary welfare organization, providing counselling, case management, and managerial services for persons with mental illness. Pauline also enjoyed counselling youths-at-risk in schools, conducted workshops for parents and youths, and counselling individuals, couples, families, and ex-offenders. Pauline worked extensively as a social worker with children suffering from chronic illnesses and potentially life-threatening illnesses and their families. She has a great passion for providing counselling and case management of the elderly with dementia and mental health issues, and their caregivers. Pauline also provides supervision to social workers and counsellors in their work and facilitate learning through different approaches. With the extensive counselling and social work experiences, Pauline’s passion is to provide psychosocial support to the clients through private counselling practice. The main interests are family therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, social work, mental health and parenting talks, training, and supervision.

Pauline’s specialty in counselling and case management of persons with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, and schizophrenia.  She is trained in counselling couples with issues such as conflict, divorce, and separation. She provides family counselling with issues such as caregiving stress, parenting, financial, addiction, family violence. Pauline has experience in counselling children and adolescents with issues such as identity, self-esteem, mental health, behavioural problems, school refusal, addiction, school stress.  She has experience counselling individuals with issues related to stress, self-esteem, anger, grief and bereavement, interpersonal conflicts, finding meaning, and purpose in life.  She is trained in counselling caregivers and the elderly with biopsychosocial issues such as chronic or terminal illnesses, depression, anxiety, self-harm, caregiver stress, advanced care planning, elder abuse.  She is experienced in facilitating group work/therapy and training for parents, caregivers, children, adolescents, and adults.  She has been involved in supervising and training social workers, counsellors, case managers, and caseworkers. 

Pauline is trained in Systemic Family Therapy, Bowen Family Therapy, Gottman Couple Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Ecological Systems Theory in counselling, case management, family work, group work, and supervision of counsellors and social workers.

 

Pauline is conversant in English, Mandarin, Teochew, and Hokkien.

Joe Chan

Youth Life Coach

Bachelor of Arts & Social Science (Social Work), Master Solution-Focused Practitioner, Professional Certified Coach (PCC) and a Registered Social Worker (RSW)

Joe has been a youth work practitioner for the past two decades, specializing in working with children and youth in the social service sector. Joe enjoys the challenges and thrills of this work starting as a caseworker himself overseeing individuals, families and programmes. Joe also has also been involved in pioneering the youth work REACH Community Services Society (Singapore) for the last many years. 


His training in social work helps to provide a systems perspective to complex issues and problems. He is also trained in the Solution Focused Approach in therapy and coaching which helps to provide a unique way of looking at individuals across the different spectrum of needs and contexts using a good integrative approach of social work, therapy and coaching with young people.

In his work, Joe has worked and collaborated with government agencies, community grassroots organisations, schools, other social service agencies and the corporate sector to bring about changes in people’s lives. Recently on 7th May 2021, Joe has been appointed as a Youth Work Mentor under the Youth Work Mentorship Scheme in Singapore. Joe has also presented in various professional platforms both locally and internationally on the applications of the Solution Focused applications in social service, leadership and coaching. He is also the author of “Youth Lenses” and a contributor to the following books “Solution Focused Practice in Asia, The Solution Focused Approach with Children and Young People and Solution Focused Practice Around the World”.

 

Joe is also a trained and certified user of the EQ-i 2.0 tool, helping leaders and managers to build up their Emotional Intelligence through coaching and mentorship.

Kristie Eng

Counsellor | Psychotherapist

Kristie has over 8 years of experience working with youths from diverse backgrounds, needs and risk levels. She has interacted with youths from mainstream secondary schools, Specialised Independent Schools, and the Institute of Higher Learning. On top of specialising in connecting with youths, Kristie has worked with children and young adults of different nationalities residing in Singapore.

Tapping on her ground experiences and acquired skill sets in various capacities, Kristie is familiar with the numerous issues that children, adolescents and young adults face in today's times. She had planned, facilitated and reviewed outreach activities to psychoeducation programmes for different profiles of youth independently and collaboratively.

 

Kristie started honing her skills in youth work by reaching out to youths at risk in the school and community settings. Trained in several psychotherapy modalities with her background in Psychology, she guides clients in their journey of personal growth and development. She was also involved in providing consultations and training to peer supporters, teachers, lecturers, administrative staff as well as volunteers in the hope of helping the identified youth to be better supported.
